Tiger-coated, he prowls outside the window,
broad paws padding the ground,
shoulder muscles rippling;
around his neck
a heart-shaped tag reads 'Bubbles'.

Poor cat but at least he probably can't read and so still believes himself to be a tiger.

About the project

A 'small stone' is a short piece of observational writing, or as the form's creator Satya Robyn puts it, 'a polished moment of paying proper attention'.

Satya leads a yearly event, held every January, in which writers from around the world commit to writing one small stone every day for a month.

In January 2012 the event was called 'A River of Stones' – hence the name of this blog. In January 2014 the event is called the 'Mindful Writing Challenge'.
